About
I've spent 26 years in QA, most of it building teams and processes from the ground up. At Mercury Network, I started as the only tester and built the QA function into a team of manual testers and automation engineers. When CoreLogic acquired Mercury, my scope expanded to four platforms with team members across the US and Ukraine, including coordinating testing for migrations from on-prem infrastructure to both Google Cloud and AWS. At Global Holdings, I stepped into a fintech environment where automation was just getting off the ground and helped shape it into a mature practice. The lead of that automation effort? Someone who'd started on my QA team at Mercury Network with zero automation experience. I'd restructured his schedule so he could learn alongside our automation engineer, and he eventually made the leap full-time. That's the kind of investment that comes back around.
I'm not your typical tech leader. I skip the jargon and talk to people like people. I put my team members on paths to grow, even when that means they outgrow my team. When we transitioned from Waterfall to Agile at Mercury Network, one of my QA testers wanted to become a Scrum Master but had no experience. I restructured his schedule to give him time to learn and practice the role. He ended up running our team for a couple of years, then left to take a dedicated Scrum Master position. He's now leading multiple teams at another company and recently told me that opportunity was life changing. That's the part I'm proudest of.
Right now I'm exploring what's possible when you combine decades of product instinct with AI-assisted development. This site is one of those experiments: designed, architected, and built using a human-AI team workflow I'm developing as I go.
Two principles I come back to over and over:
The Headlights
"QA are the headlights on the car. Our job is to illuminate the road ahead and reveal the path, and the obstacles, to the driver. If the driver decides to drive into the ditch, we're still right there lighting the way. As long as we always light that path, we've done our job."
I Don't Know
"'I don't know' is a perfectly acceptable answer, and the right one if you really don't know. But it must be followed by 'but I will find out.'"
Experience
Quality Assurance Manager
Helped grow and provide direction to an emerging automation practice in a fintech payment processing environment. Currently leading a team of 8 QA engineers across the US, Colombia, and Argentina. Promoted from QA Lead to QA Manager in May 2025.
- Release defects reduced from 20–25 to 2–3 per release
- Backlog reduced from 800 tickets to under 100
- Transitioned estimation from hours to story points, achieving consistent sprint completion
- Currently reshaping and redefining QA processes and functionality documentation
- Built the team's onboarding process from the ground up, where none existed
CoreLogic / Mercury Network
Started as the sole QA tester at a la mode, the predecessor company Mercury Network was carved out of. Built the QA function from scratch: defining processes and growing the team to 6 manual testers and 2 automation engineers, then rose to QA Manager, leading testing across 4 platforms with team members in the US and Ukraine. After CoreLogic's acquisition of Mercury, I was tapped as a Subject Matter Expert to lead QA and product analysis for a new platform initiative, a cross-functional role spanning QA, product, and development. I later created and led a triage team (QA, Dev, Senior Tech) to solve a support escalation bottleneck, reducing load on QA and Dev, and served as de facto Business Analyst and SME for Mercury Network's Product Manager. Along the way I coordinated testing for infrastructure migrations from on-prem to both Google Cloud and AWS.
- Automated regression testing reduced cycle from 2–3 days to under half a day per sprint, reclaiming an estimated 48–72 working days per year
